September Bird Walk - Dorothy Carnes Park, West Side

(Photo of American Goldfinch ...)
It was a small group (can two birders be consdiered a group?) that gathered for the September walk at Dorothy Carnes Park. The weather was beautiful, though a bit humid as the walk progressed. We didn't see many individuals but we did have a number of interesting species. Special treats were a Pine Warbler (heard only) and a juvenile Common Gallinule. There is a complete list of species seen below.
This was the final walk of the season, always a sort of special walk. We are already thinking of places to go next season, perhaps including a walk or two in new areas. If you couldn't be with us for this walk we hope you will join us next season. There's always something worth seeing on these walks, but you can't see those treats if you aren't with us!

Below is a complete list of bird species identified.
