September Bird Walk - Zeloski Marsh

We combined our September Walk with one of the Madison Audubon Society's walks, as well as being joined by members of the Friends of the Glacial Heritage Area as usual. The weather was much cooler than our last walk at Zeloski which was appreciated by the walkers.

The recent rains pretty much eliminated shorebird habitat but we did find many Killdeer and a couple of Wilson's Snipe. Despite the low shorebird numbers, we managed a total of 60 species! That included a number of Fall Warblers, some of which played hide and seek with us in the foliage.

Our September walk is our last scheduled walk of the season. At this time, we do not have any additional walks scheduled. If that should happen, we will notify everyone on our e-mail list.
