(Photo of American Redstart ...) May Bird Walk - Ledge Road at Horicon Marsh

Only one walker joined me for our May walk. This was probably due in part to a scheduling conflict with the WSO. If we have the same situation in the future, we'll consider moving the walk to other than our standard weekend.

The two of us birded during a spectacular spring day. The weather was pleasant, the light just right for birding and the birds cooperated. Almost immediately we had good views of a Black-billed Cuckoo, a bird we see very seldom. We enjoyed flying Trumpeter Swans and views of both active Bald Eagle nests. The eagles themselves were busy elsewhere.
