(Photo of Black Tern ...) May Bird Walk - Dorothy Carnes Park

It was a great day to be birding at Dorothy Carnes Park! The birds were so numerous it was difficult to leave. (Well, it's always difficult to leave after a walk but this was especially difficult.) Highlights included multiple Indigo Buntings, Scarlet Tanager, Orchard Oriole, several Baltimore Orioles including a hen actively weaving her nest, Willow Flycatcher singing ... and others. It was quite a busy walk. We tallied 51 species overall!

There is a complete list of birds sighted below.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming field trip. Who knows what you'll miss if you don't join us?
