(Photo of American Goldfinch ...) June Bird Walk - Lunde Woods

Warm! And a bit muggy! We had quite strong storms the night before the walk. There were some very wet spots on the trails. None of this stopped our intrepid band of birders as we explored Watertown's Lunde Woods. The weather - and leaves on the trees - did make it a challenge to find birds. Activity was down, perhaps due to conditions. Never the less, we got to see and hear many species with just a bit of extra trying. Along the way we added some good data to the Breeding Bird Atlas project. We even got to witness Grackles feeding juveniles! All in all a fun walk for our warm birders!

There is a complete list of birds sighted below.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming field trip. Who knows what you'll miss if you don't join us?
