The weather was hot and humid but not as bad as feared for our July walk. We also had a good breeze to help us keep going. It was well worth it for the many birds we saw. There's a complete list below as always. Thanks to Aaron Stutz for the checklist! Hightlights were Dicksissle, over a hundred Sandhill Cranes, Black Terns everywhere and Common Gallinules. We were able to see more of the farthest impoundment than in years past due to recent clearing efforts in the marsh. The prairie plantings were in bloom as well. All in all, it was a good day for the walk and a great place to be.
