(Photo of American Goldfinch ...) July Walk - Harnischfeger Park

Unfriendly skies did not keep a group of intrepid birders from enjoying our first walk at Harnischfeger Park. As it turned out, we did not get rained on and we had an excellent walk! The overcast, almost rainy weather often produces good birding walks. On top of noting some less common birds, we produced some good information for the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas effort. All in all, a very successful outing. A complete list of the species seen is below, along with some interesting notes. Thanks to Karen Etter Hale for her always outstanding field notes!

We will definitely be returning to Harnischfeger for future walks!

There is a complete list of birds sighted below.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming field trip. Who knows what you'll miss if you don't join us?
