July Bird Walk - Madison's E-Way
The prairie restoration was every bit as beautiful as it's possible for a prairie to be for our July walk. Held in conjunction with the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area, a good sized group of birders and nature lovers headed out on the E-Way trails to look at birds, prairie plants, butterfiles and anything else nature sent our way.
The day proved pleasant for the walk. We saw a number of interesting birds and very much enjoyed a goodly portion of the E-Way. Treats included a small flock of American Robins with some youngsters, good looks at one (or two?) Brown Thrashers and a large number of blooming prairie flowers and the butterflies they attracted. It was a memorable experience!
If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming field trip.
31 bird species were seen on this walk.
