July Bird Walk - Prairie Walk at Korth Park
Despite the threat of drizzle and an approaching heat wave, a small group of dedicated birders enjoyed a very pleasant outing at Korth Park. There were very few drops of rain, barely enough to notice, and the heat stayed away until after we'd left. Our rewards included beautiful prairie blooms, birds, butterflies and dragonflies. Highlights included the Common Loon swimming on Rock Lake and several good views of Common Yellowthroat Warblers, including a hen with food for her babies.
If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you will be able to join us for one of the remaining field trips.
