We were greeted with cold temperatures and a strong wind but some sunshine for our first walk of the season. It warmed up as we walked and the wind was no problem among the trees. We were able to find a goodly number of species for this time of the year, see list below. Special treats included seeing both of the pair of Bald Eagles nesting in the park. Also, both Kinglets, a pair of Yellow-breasted Sapsuckers and finding a lazy American Tree Sparrow which hadn't bothered to head north yet.
Below is a
complete list of bird species identified. Special thanks to Sue Volenec for the excellent field notes.
