April Bird Walk - Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Refuge
We held our April walk on Sunday, April 20th. We walked the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Refuge ("Horicon South Side") for our inaugural walk for this series. We had a small group of five birders on a beautiful spring day perfect for birding. The birds seemed to be enjoying the weather as well. Highlights included a Wood Duck pair in the trees, foraging for a nesting site. Several flocks of American White Pelicans soaring silently overhead. The first Wood Warblers of the year - Yellow Rumped and Yellow. Others as noted on the list below. It was a wonderful experience!
If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for one of the others in this series.
